Creative Conversations on advocacy and action

Stay connected, speak out, and show up in 2026 and as we head into the 2027-2029 state budget season. There are no guarantees, and a lot of hard work ahead, but we have the best opportunity in a long time to increase public investment in the arts throughout the state.

Register today for a Creative Conversation about advocacy and action in the critically important gubernatorial and legislative election season, the state budget process (click here for Create Wisconsin’s 2026-2027 Legislative Agenda), regional conferences, and, the importance of being involved in civic issues from the ground up.  Anne Katz, Director of Create Wisconsin, will lead the conversation.

The session will be repeated twice in May 2026:

–  Tuesday, May 5, 10-11 am

–  Thursday, May 7, 1-2 pm

Please register in advance using the form below.  You’ll get Zoom info and other materials before the meeting. The webinar will be recorded for anyone who can’t attend.

As you know, 2026 is a big year for Wisconsin (and national) politics, with races for all eight Congressional seats, Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, half of the State Senate (odd numbered seats) and all 99 State Assemblypeople.  Tuesday, August 11 is the primary and Tuesday, November 3 is the general election.

This year is the time to empower advocates – that’s you – with information and actions, and educate candidates about the power, benefits, and impact of the arts, culture, and creative economy in their districts and statewide. The results of the elections and our advocacy will get us ready for the FY2027-2029 state budget season. The opportunities of 2027 will be here before we know it.
