Stay connected, speak out, and show up in 2026 and as we head into the 2027-2029 state budget season. There are no guarantees, and a lot of hard work ahead, but we have the best opportunity in a long time to get attention and increase public investment in the arts throughout the state.
Join Anne Katz, Director of Create Wisconsin, the state’s community cultural development organization, each month for a “creative conversation” about advocacy and action for the critically important gubernatorial and legislative candidate season, the state budget process (click here for Create Wisconsin’s 2026-2027 Legislative Agenda), regional conferences, and, the importance of being involved in civic issues from the ground up. Each session will be repeated twice.
Please register for one of these sessions coming up in July 2026:
You’ll get Zoom info when you register, and we’ll send other materials, before the meeting.
As you know, 2026 is a big year for Wisconsin (and national) politics. All eight House of Representative seats, Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, half of the State Senate (odd numbered seats) and all 99 State Assemblypeople are on the ballot. Tuesday, August 11 is the primary and Tuesday, November 3 is the general election.
This year is the time to empower advocates – that’s you – with information and actions, and educate candidates about the power, benefits, and impact of the arts, culture, and creative economy in their districts and statewide. The results of the elections and our advocacy will get us ready for the FY2027-2029 state budget season. The opportunities of 2027 will be here before we know it.
Contact Create Wisconsin ([email protected]) with questions, comments, ideas, and anything else you want to discuss.
Be an informed advocate…we’ll update resources on a regular basis here.
