Create Wisconsin Action Alert 5-30-25: Ask Your State Legislators to Support Proposed State Budget Increase in Wisconsin Arts Board Funding
Republican members of the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee (JFC) are moving forward with the 2025-25 state budget after recently striking hundreds of Gov. Tony Evers' proposals. The GOOD NEWS is that the GOP DID NOT remove a provision in the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to provide $2.95 Million in General Purpose Revenue (GPR) each year for the Wisconsin Arts Board, the state agency dedicated to the arts, culture, and creativity.
This means that we have the best chance in a long time to grow Wisconsin's investment in the arts, culture, and creativity through the Arts Board. Since JFC is currently reviewing the budget and the budget process is heading towards completion in the near future, now is the time for you to act, to keep this effort moving forward. Your legislators need to hear from you today! If your organization has received funding from the Arts Board - if you want the chance to get funding from the Arts Board - if you believe that investment in the arts is a win for Wisconsin - if you think arts opportunities should grow, thrive, and flourish throughout the state - if you care about Wisconsin's future - contact your legislators today.
