The Quartet's renowned violinists, Ralph Evans (prizewinner in the International Tchaikovsky Competition) and Efim Boico (former concertmaster of the Orchestre de Paris under Barenboim) have performed together for 42 years. They are joined by two eminent musicians: violist Gil Sharon (founder of the Amati Ensemble), and cellist Niklas Schmidt (co-founder of the Trio Fontenay).

The Quartet ended a 65-year residency at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2018. Thanks to generous public support, winter concerts and week-long summer festival concerts were successfully staged by Friends of the Fine Arts Quartet in Milwaukee in 2018 and 2019. Programs returned in 2022 with two winter concerts (January 29 and 30) and a summer festival July 10-18.  In 2023, the Fine Arts Quartet returned to Zelazo on March 11. The fourth Summer Festival supported by the Friends included three concerts in July 2023. The 2024 Festival was scheduled as a Spring event with three concerts in April.

Concerts in the Spring of 2025 will include free concerts on May 5, May 9, and May 11 at locations in Milwaukee. Go to www.fofaq.org for Festival details.

Join others by adding your support for The Fine Arts Quartet concerts in Milwaukee. The Friends of the Fine Arts Quartet coordinates the campaign. Create Wisconsin serves as fiscal agent, receiving tax-deductible contributions and dispensing funds. The Peck School of the Arts of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will continue as a community partner for concerts at the campus Zelazo Center. Saint John’s On The Lake and Jewish Museum Milwaukee have collaborated as other program venues. Recently concerts have included the Jewish Community Center (2023), and Saint Paul's Episcopal Church (2024 and 2025).

Annual contributions are critical to continue these concerts; advance contributions determine the extent of concert offerings. Donations permit the concerts to be free to the public, allowing The Quartet audiences to expand and diversify. Many thanks!
