Birthplace of Frank Lloyd Wright

Wisconsin is the birthplace of Frank Lloyd Wright. His home and workplace, Taliesen, is located in Spring Green. Wright-designed and Wright-inspired buildings include the S.C. Johnson headquarters (Racine), First Unitarian Society (Madison), and Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center (Madison).

National Recognition 

Latino Arts, Inc. (Milwaukee) and Simpson Street Free Press (Madison) have been recognized with national “Coming Up Taller” awards from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, recognizing exemplary creative educational opportunities.

American Players Theatre was recognized as the “best classical theater in the country” by the Wall Street Journal.

Five Wisconsin small towns and rural areas were listed in “The 100 Best Small Art Towns in America”: Bayfield/Ashland, Spring Green, Door County, Mineral Point, and Amery.
