Join Create Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Arts Board for a webinar focused on public art with the people who create the work - the artists.  Public art is the intersection of visual form, storytelling, and civic dialogue.  Artists bring their artistic integrity, creativity, and skill to that integrative process to ensure an imaginative and productive affinity between artist and community.

The panel of professional artists - John Kowalczyk of Milwaukee (www.johnkowalczykart.com/), Stephon Kiba Freeman of Stevens Point (www.kibafreemanart.com/), and Irineo Medina of Appleton (www.irineomedina.com/) - will share their insights into artmaking and its personal, social, and cultural contexts as they create, educate, and connect in a wide variety of disciplines and environments.

This session builds on a webinar focused on community development and public art presented in January 2024 by the Wisconsin Main Street Program and Create Wisconsin.  It is part of a continuing series of “Creative Conversations” that examine issues related to the development of Wisconsin’s creative economy and industries, and to the intersection and ecosystem of creative people, ideas, organizations, and communities.

Zoom information will be sent to registrants by Tuesday, May 21.
