Wednesday, June 21: it's Make Music Wisconsin! Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day celebrates on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries around the world.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
Wisconsin's Make Music Day encompasses 21 communities - the larger number of participating communities in any state - spanning the state from Superior to Kenosha and from Platteville to Land o'Lakes, with communities of all sizes participating.
Check www.makemusicday.org/wi to find a Make Music Day event near you, and go out and Make Music!
