Big elections in Wisconsin
2026 is a big year for Wisconsin politics, with races for Congress, State Supreme Court, Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, half of the State Senate (odd numbered seats) and all 99 State Assemblypeople.
Create Wisconsin will be focused on educating candidates, in particular Congressional, gubernatorial and legislative, about the power, benefits, and impact of the arts, culture, and creative economy in locally and statewide, and we’ll empower advocates throughout Wisconsin to make the case as well. The results of the elections and our advocacy will get us ready for the FY2027-2029 state budget season. 2027 will be here before we know it.
Here’s what you need to know about the elections (UpNorth News, 12-8-25).
Here's how you can be an informed and active advocate in 2026:
Speak up: Create Wisconsin makes it easy for you to make your voice heard. Check out our Legislative Action Center, and stay connected via our website and social media (Facebook/Instagram @createwis and LinkedIn @Create Wisconsin.
Take action: Participate in Create Wisconsin's Creative Conversations advocacy information and training workshops, to be held every other month (or maybe more) throughout the year. The first Conversation is coming up, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, 1-2 pm and Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 3-4 pm. Click here to register for one of these sessions.
Learn more: Make a point to know the candidates running for elected official locally and statewide, and their issues. Volunteer to work on a campaign, participate in candidate forums, and make sure you are involved in the electoral process. Although as a nonprofit organization we don't endorse candidates, Create Wisconsin will educate all candidates about the value and power of the statewide creative economy, and the critical importance of investment in the arts, culture, and creativity.
Be in the know: Use these talking points - Wisconsin needs creative economic, workforce, and civic investment - for inspiration and action.
Show up: Voting is every citizen's right, privilege, and duty, so make sure you are registered to vote, and do so in the primary and general elections. Up-to-date info about Wisconsin elections is at MyVoteWI.gov.
